The Citizen Education course is taught in a semester, and it focuses on topics related to the rights and obligations of every citizen, the role of the state and the study of Brazilian reality, as well as debates on areas related to the various problems of our society and to the elaboration and content of public policies.
The course meets once a week on Fridays and is divided into two blocks. The first, more general, about the organization of the Brazilian state, human rights, representative and participatory democracy, analysis of the Brazilian reality, the public budget among others. The second block debates some areas of public policy such as education, health, environment, safety.
The course is intended for citizens, community activists and social movements who want to have a first contact with the main concepts that will help promote political participation in society and social organization in their communities.
Classes are held every Friday, from 07:30 to 09:30 PM.
